She Rises: Celebrating the enduring strength and unyielding spirit of women
Friday, January 10th, 2025 through Thursday, April 10th, 2025
Each piece in this collection serves as a testament to the power, resilience, and nurturing essence of women today and throughout history. The artworks invite the contemplation of the roles women play in society — from caregivers and nurturers to leaders and warriors — and encourage a personal reflection on the vibrant dialogues of color and form that the artworks evoke.
Showcasing modern, vintage and antique hand woven Diné (Navajo) rugs and a wearing blanket, alongside an assortment of vibrant watercolor, acrylic, ink, oil, mixed media, and poignant photographs, She Rises embodies the spirit of the feminine and its influence on our world. These pieces stir emotions and inspire awe in recognition of women's legacy and future contributions to the fabric of our lives.

She Rises
She rises like the moon lighting the land in the darkness, like a star to guide you home. She rises with the dawn, like the sun, to fill the day with hope, with heat, with light. She rises to lead the way for the weary.
She rises even when she's tired.
She rises like bread in a warm oven, like corn from fertile soil. She rises to feed the hungry, to feed her dreams, to listen with her heart, to others, to elders, to children, to whispers on the wind.
She rises to answer your call.
Call her Sister
Call her Mother
Call her Auntie, Daughter, Doctor, Princess, President, Granny, Queen
Call her Wife
She rises
She rises to the occasion. Rises like the tide, like the Phoenix from the ashes. Rises like bamboo bent, not broken, like inspiration, invention, intention. She rises to clean the sky, to scour the Earth, to purify the waters. She rises to add color to our lives.
She rises above expectations. Rises like the blush of a rose on the cheek of your beloved, like a twinkle in the eye of the blind. She rises to give solace, lend strength. She rises in compassion, in empathy.
She rises to raise you up.
She rises to speak truth to power. Rises like an elevator to the top floor, like righteous indignation. She rises in the face of the mighty, in the face of opposition, the face of oppression. She rises in the name of justice, in defense of children, the meek, the wounded, the unseen.
She rises to balance the scales.
She rises to feather your nest, pack your lunch, feed animals, water flowers. She rises to earn her salary, to earn her keep, to earn your love, to earn your trust, to praise her God, to raise her family, to raise her voice, our spirits, her circle.
She rises to yield a softness in our world.
