Why Join

Amplify Your Voice in Government and the Community
  • In 2016, SFGA collected 2,037 signatures for our petition to stop New Mexico Senate bill 226, a.k.a.“The Art Tax”.
  • We organized an SB 226 Facebook campaign.
  • We established a text-message tree to alert members about legislative committee hearings.
  • Though SB 226 didn’t make it to committee, SFGA is prepared for a similar bill to surface in the 2017 legislative session.
Promote Your Business with the ArtMap
  • 35,000 copies distributed to member galleries, museums, visitors’ centers, downtown hotels, and sidewalk drop-boxes.
  • Concierges and visitors’-center employees say ArtMap is among their most requested and distributed publications.
Promote Your Gallery with the new smartphone app, Cultural Atlas of New Mexico
  • SFGA members are the ONLY galleries invited to complete a listing on this easy-to-use, elegant app directing visitors to galleries, museums, cultural sites, and other major events.
  • Marketed by the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs, New Mexico Tourism Department, and Tourism Santa Fe, this app is expected to reach a broader, younger audience than our classic, print-edition ArtMap.
Cut Costs to Attend Art Fairs
  • SFGA recently negotiated a 15 percent discount (+ application fee waiver and pooled shipping resources) to the 2017 L.A. Art Fair.
  • We plan to negotiate more art fair discounts in 2017.
Connect with the Art Business Community
  • Look for our quarterly, member’s-only roundtable discussions, “Inside Insight” on topics pertinent to the Santa Fe art economy.
  • Recent topics have included how art auctions affect your gallery’s business and the pros and cons of attending art fairs.
